Gregory Isaacs Reaches The Border

Gregory Isaacs along with the Live Wyya Band will leave Jamaica Oct 24th for a 5 week tour of Europe and the UK. Isaacs who is popularly known as the "Cool Ruler" will lead a 15 man entourage which will take them through Holland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and the UK to name a few. During the tour Gregory Isaacs will do a recording with Bono of the group U-2 in Ireland and will be performing with the Bollywood Orchestra a philarmonic orchestra from India at special shows in Ireland and the UK.Gregory Isaacs will be accompanied by the Live Wyya Band who in turn will be the opening act and will perform a 45 minute set prior to providing musical backing for Gregory in promotion of their new CD "Solid Meditation".

Isaacs and the Live Wyya Band have been touring consistently since February 2006 and have so far peformed on most of the major festivals in the US including all the Raggamuffin Festival and Sierra Nevada World Music Festival.

During the recently concluded "One Love Festival " tour of the USA of which Gregory and the Live Wyya Band was part of, there was news flying around in the music circle that the Cool Ruler was ill and had to cut short his participation in the tour. The news turned out to be inaccurately reported in the media as Gregory did not miss one show on the tour and each nite he did his complete set on stage to the delight of his many fans who turned out to witness this veteran entertainer who has recorded over 140 albums to date and his big hit signature song "Nite Nurse" is still in great demand. and each nite when Gregory performs The Live Wyya Band who were last years winners of the "Battle Of The Bands Contest" and represented Jamaica at the finals of the "Global Battle Of The Bands" contest in London have been touring consistently with Gregory Isaacs since the signing of Isaacs by Copeland Forbes to Comar Productions Ltd who now represents both Isaacs and Live Wyya in management and bookings.

The fifteen man entourage will return to Jamaica December 6th and will leave Jamaica December 8th for South America where the group will do concerts in Mexico,Columbia,Guam and Saipan before returning to Jamaica for the "Silly Season" of Christmas shows that the group is slated to perform on.The tour is booked by Copeland Forbes of Comar Productions Ltd and for further info please contact Comar Productions PR department.

ABOUT REGGAE FESTIVAL E-GUIDE

The weekly E-Guide is a wonderful resource for those who live, love and enjoy reggae and its vibrant culture. It encompasses the food, music and spirituality that define the unique and diverse community. You can expect CD releases and industry news, band tours, Caribbean recipes and travel, inspirational pieces, reggae trivia and of course, upcoming reggae festivals.

For years, the Reggae Festival Guide Magazine received numerous requests for updates on festivals via email, and on May 2, 2004, the webmaster of ReggaeFestivalGuide.com, Kristine Cummins partnered with the magazine (RBA Publishing), and published the first emailed issue of the E-Guide E-Newsletter. Within a few months, the E-Guide went from less than 100 to over 2500 subscribers! [Click here for amount of current subscribers]. In May of 2005, we upgraded the appearance to full color and now, a year later, we're back to free subscriptions and proud to announce our new Editor, Justine Ketola. Click here to email Justine.

In September, 2006 Peter Fleming of bandVillage began to produce the eguide.
