Sierra Nevada World Music Festival 2006 Gets A New Home! The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival takes place on June 23, 24 & 25, 2006 in a new location! The organizers are thrilled to be coming to Boonville in Mendocino County, California this year. According to organizers Warren Smith and Gretchen Franz "We considered dozens of alternative locations, but none compared to the sheer beauty of Anderson Valley." This traditional summer solstice and world peace celebration is dedicated to nurturing a family peacefully united in celebration of the universal spirit of music. Created through the collective efforts of the artists, vendors, staff, volunteers and ticket buyers, the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival has always been known for the positive, conscious and environmentally aware community it attracts. As a grassroots organization, the organizers intend to work hand-in-hand with the local community to make it an enjoyable event for everyone. To that end, there is a limit on ticket sales to only 5,000, making it about the same size as the County Fair. Traffic is minimized by the fact that the overwhelming majority of attendees camp and their vehicles may not be removed during the festival. Warren and Gretchen also note "Our festival has always had a ‘green team’ to insure that we minimize our footprint on the community and environment." Check out www.snwmf.com for the latest in lineup, ticket and camping information.

Find Every Opportunity to Show Your Love By Curt Byrum ![]() Through the past year and a half we have asked Jah for many things and for blessings on many people. We have prayed for the survivors from the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean to the Hurricane's in the Gulf Coast of the USA. We have praised The Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah for those who have been given the strength and courage to stand for freedom and human rights from Tiananmen Square to Montgomery, Alabama. Truly we have been blessed to live in a time as perilous and ridiculous as this. We are all in need of more light. We have discussed that our actions define our intentions here on Planet Earth and thus become the evidence of what we truly believe. It is how we treat our neighbors, the elderly, and children that shows our true heart. From the inspiration of poetry to the power of a thank-you, even the smallest act of love matters. We pray this week that you will find every opportunity to show your love to the people in your world. Maybe, the light will glow a bit brighter this week! Keep in mind, respect, integrity, and purity must always be balanced with love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Otherwise, it is impossible to achieve tolerance and peace with our neighbors. Please feel free to send us your prayers, poetry and inspirational stories from your life. One Love, Passionate for human rights and politics, bourgeoning writer Curt Byrum keeps his readers abreast of current news events. In addition to being a writer, he is a Respiratory Therapist residing in California. Curt also has a passion for music of all genres, writes experimental music and is a poet/lyricist. The weekly E-Guide is a wonderful resource for those who live, love and enjoy reggae and its vibrant culture. It encompasses the food, music and spirituality that define the unique and diverse community. You can expect CD release and industry news, band tours, Caribbean recipes and travel, inspirational pieces, reggae trivia and of course, upcoming reggae festivals. For years, the Reggae Festival Guide Magazine received numerous requests for updates on festivals via email, and on May 2, 2004, the webmaster of ReggaeFestivalGuide.com, Kristine Cummins partnered with the magazine (RBA Publishing), and published the first emailed issue of the E-Guide E-Newsletter. In the course of three years, the E-Guide has gone from no color in 2004, to full-color with photos in 2005, and now we are introducing two new sections, CD Releases and Roots Music Report: Reggae Radio Airplay Charts in 2006. We are also proud to announce our new Editor, Justine Ketola. You may email her with any questions at editorreggaefestivalEguide.com.
